RATE INCREASE

September 26, 2019

Effective November 1, 2019 your water rates will be increasing.  Upon recommendation and approval from USDA and a rate study conducted by Louisiana Rural Water Association, the Board of Directors voted to increase the water rates.  The basic residential rate will increase from $19.00 to $22.50 for the first 2,000 gallons and the rate will increase from $5.50 to $6.40 per 1,000 gallons used over the basic rate.  The basic commercial rate will increase from $32.00 to $38.00 for the first 2,000 gallons and the rate will increase from $5.50 to $6.40 per 1,000 gallons used over the basic rate.  The billing multiplier has also changed from 1,000 gallons to 100 gallons.  This change will give...

November 11, 1918.

On November 11 of 1918, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice went into effect, a cessation of hostilities between the Allied Nations and Germany, ending the “war to end all wars.”

The official end of World War I would not be declared for seven more months, at the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, but the end actually came on that November day, when the truce was signed, the opposing forces laid down their weapons, and the war known as the “Great War” was over.
